Atmospheric Perspective Drawing:
In these beautiful landscapes, scholars employed shading and blending techniques to create illusions of depth and distance with atmospheric perspective.
Attention to Detail: Produces neat, precise, and well-finished work, consistently identifying and correcting errors independently.
Consistency: Consistently produces high quality results, demonstrating sustained effort and attention to detail.
Tool and Material Handling: Handles 2B, 4B, and 6B pencils, and erasers proficiently, and is able to create a wide range of values, requiring minimal guidance.
Work Habits: Maintains a clean and organized workspace, following project steps independently and efficiently.
Painted Pathways Documentary
The Painted Pathways Documentary Project was a collaboration between Pinnacles Prep scholars and professional artist Terry Valdez, and Pinnacles Prep board member and media arts educator, Rick Wray.
Barber Shop
Allan and Christian turned their Passion Project into a Community Service opportunity. Collaborating with local barber shop Infinite Fades to receive coaching, they are now giving free haircuts at Lighthouse Ministries.
Identity & Activism
Ayden’s Passion Project centered around learning more about his Quinalt family ancestry. He researched the symbolism of colors found in making traditional jewelry. Through this process he became more aware of the Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women efforts. He decided to make earrings and sell them to raise money for MMWIG: Native Hope.
“Originally, my passion project started out with me just wanting to be more connected with my Quinault Nation,” Ayden Itterley said. “It’s not just about the earrings anymore, it’s more about MMIW.”
Documentary Film Making
Luca Scanlon is a digital wizard. He makes his own music and videos on social media. He became intrigued with documentary film making after shadowing North 40 Productions and Terminal Ave Media. Roaring Rivers documents our 7th grade social studies and history class while exploring the costs and benefits of dams on the Columbia River.
